Tehran Mayor Zakani announces urban reforms and school renovation plans

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani reported significant changes in the city's financial and structural management. He noted that the municipality's debt to banks has been reduced from five times the annual budget to just 10 percent, while the municipal budget has increased twelvefold compared to previous periods.

Zakani highlighted urban development initiatives, including a plan to convert 2,800 schools into large educational complexes, starting with 10 residential complexes. He also addressed the housing crisis, stating that 51 percent of Tehran residents are renters.

In Kordkuy, Mayor Ebrahim Gerjani announced the completion of 180 out of 188 urban and service projects over the last four years and eight months, with a total budget of 420 billion tomans. These projects focused on infrastructure, beautification, and creating investment opportunities, including the upcoming opening of a 3,000-square-meter park.
