Tehran Municipality proposes monthly payments for children born in 1405

Tehran Mayor Alireza Zakani has announced a plan to provide monthly payments of 3.5 to 4 million Tomans for each child born in the year 1405 (Persian calendar) to support birth rates. The announcement was made during an event honoring the elderly and families of martyrs at Milad Tower.

Mehdi Chamran, Chairman of the Tehran City Council, responded to the proposal by stating that the plan requires further investigation to determine which specific budget source will fund these payments.

Additionally, the municipality is working on initiatives to stabilize prices for essential goods. Chamran noted that through bulk purchasing and management via municipal outlets, prices in certain markets have been kept approximately 30 percent lower than the general market rate.
