Tehran police arrest suspect in suspicious death of 27-year-old woman

Police in Tehran have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 27-year-old woman whose body was discovered on the Tehran-Qom Highway last November. The victim, who was found without identification, was identified by her family after they reported her missing.

Investigations revealed the woman had been communicating with individuals through social media. Following a period as a fugitive, the suspect was apprehended on Tuesday. Upon his arrest, the man claimed the woman was a drug user who visited his home. He alleged that she consumed drugs, fell asleep, and subsequently stopped breathing. He further claimed that, out of fear, he wrapped her body in a sheet and abandoned it on the highway.

Authorities are currently investigating these claims, and forensic experts are working to determine the official cause of death.
