Tehran police investigate two domestic homicide cases
Authorities in Tehran are investigating two separate homicide cases involving domestic disputes.
In the first case, a man confessed to killing his 37-year-old wife after an argument regarding the monthly installment of a 20 million toman mobile phone. The suspect, a service worker, stated that the financial strain of the debt and the disagreement led to the fatal altercation. The victim's three children have been placed in the care of social welfare services, and the case has been referred to the Tehran Criminal Court.
In a second incident, a man was arrested for the poisoning of his wife, Maryam. While the suspect initially claimed she committed suicide by consuming rice pills, investigations revealed he had crushed the pills and mixed them with her herbal medicine. The suspect cited domestic conflicts and his inability to pay a heavy dowry as motivations for the crime.
