Tehran Traffic Police to deploy female officers at girls' schools

Aboulfazl Mousavipour, head of the Tehran Traffic Police, has announced a new initiative involving the deployment of female police officers in front of girls' schools starting in the month of Mehr. This measure is intended to manage traffic flow and ensure the safe passage of students during the school reopening period.

Mousavipour noted that traffic is expected to increase by 30 percent due to the resumption of school and academy activities. The police plan to focus on 260 schools located along major highways and an additional 350 schools identified as requiring special care. Efforts are also underway in coordination with the municipality to improve road safety through markings and signage around 860 identified schools.

Parallel to these traffic measures, there is an increased emphasis on monitoring student environments. The Student Basij, operating under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, is implementing programs such as the ‘Yavaran-e Velayat’ campaign to train student leaders as part of what officials describe as a ‘cultural battle’ to protect the younger generation from external influences.
