Tehran urban planning resolutions pending municipality performance review

The future of urban planning resolutions 712 and 716 from Tehran's Article 5 Commission remains undecided pending a performance review of the Tehran Municipality. Gholamreza Kazemian, Secretary of the Iran High Council of Urban Planning and Architecture, stated that the decision depends on an evaluation of the municipality's implementation and the resulting impacts.

A disagreement exists between the High Council and the Tehran Municipality regarding these resolutions. The municipality argues that resolutions 712 and 716 should continue due to ongoing conditions resulting from conflict. Conversely, the High Council maintains that these measures were approved based on a 12-day conflict period and suggests that new incentives for repairing damage from a 40-day conflict should be established through new, updated resolutions.

To facilitate a decision, the Tehran Municipality has been tasked with providing a documented report detailing the execution of these resolutions, the utilization of predicted capacities, and an analysis of potential shortcomings. The High Council aims to create a transparent path for rebuilding damaged structures and avoiding ambiguity for citizens and applicants.
