Tehran warehouses engulfed in major fire
A major fire broke out late at night in a complex of warehouses located near kilometer 11 of the special road (Jadeh Makhsous) heading west of Tehran. The facility consisted of seven two-story warehouses, each measuring approximately 500 square meters, which had been subdivided into smaller rental stalls for storing household appliances.
According to Jalal Maleki, spokesperson for the Tehran Fire Department, the fire spread rapidly due to the use of unsafe, flammable materials such as sandwich panels, wooden sheets, and roofing plates used to partition the stalls. Three of the warehouses were completely engulfed in flames and faced potential collapse.
Firefighters managed to prevent the blaze from spreading to an adjacent warehouse containing chemical substances, which officials noted could have significantly escalated the danger. Six fire stations responded to the scene, and no casualties or injuries were reported. Emergency crews worked to contain the fire and subsequently began cleanup operations.
