Tej Pratap Yadav placed under medical observation during judicial custody in Patna
Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD) chief Tej Pratap Yadav was moved to medical observation after reporting chest pain while in judicial custody in Patna. Doctors are monitoring him because he has diabetes and high blood pressure. His counsel, Advocate Nisha Singh, filed a bail application and questioned the legality of his arrest, alleging that no FIR was initially filed and that he was transferred between police stations without due process.
Police say an FIR was registered at Gandhi Maidan Police Station, charging Yadav with attempt to murder, rioting, and obstructing public servants related to the Bihar Bandh protests. After a court hearing, he was remanded for 14 days, sent to Beur Central Jail, and his bail petition remains pending.
