Tejashwi Yadav announces march to Raj Bhavan over Siwan firing
Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition in Bihar and RJD National Working President, has announced a march to Raj Bhavan in Patna scheduled for Wednesday. The protest is organized by the 'Mahagathbandhan' alliance to demand accountability regarding a recent student protest in Siwan where police allegedly used an AK-47 rifle.
Yadav has raised several questions concerning the Siwan incident, including who authorized the deployment of an AK-47 for crowd control and why the local Superintendent of Police has not been suspended. He is demanding a judicial inquiry and the disclosure of the entire chain of command involved in the use of the weapon. He also noted that three individuals were injured by gunfire during the protests.
Beyond the Siwan incident, Yadav criticized the NDA government for a perceived collapse in law and order, alleging that Bihar is becoming a “capital of exam paper leaks.” He cited widespread irregularities in competitive exams for Class 10 and Class 12 and linked these issues to broader challenges in the state, including unemployment, recruitment irregularities, and corruption.
