Tejashwi Yadav demands Bihar CM resignation over Jamui incident
Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary following an incident in Jamui involving the alleged molestation and assault of minor students. Yadav criticized the state government, claiming that law and order in Bihar has collapsed and that the state is facing reputational damage.
In a press conference and via social media, Yadav used satirical dialogue to accuse the Chief Minister of focusing on the religious identity of the accused rather than the crime. He alleged that the administration sought to investigate the incident through a ‘Muslim and Yadav angle’ and questioned the Chief Minister's integrity regarding the color of the accused's scarf.
Yadav also called for an apology from NDA leaders, including Lalan Singh, who characterized the incident as something the opposition is politicizing. While the police have arrested two suspects following an encounter and detained three minors, the political tension between the RJD and the ruling coalition continues to escalate.
