Tejashwi Yadav demands compensation for Bihar farmers after crop damage

Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, has called on the state government to provide immediate and adequate compensation to farmers following heavy damage caused by unseasonal rains and strong winds. The weather disturbances, attributed to the influence of Cyclone Arnab, have severely impacted Kharif crops across various parts of the state.

Reports indicate widespread destruction of paddy, banana, maize, pulses, and green vegetables. In many instances, harvested paddy crops were submerged in water due to continuous rainfall, leading to significant economic distress for agricultural communities. Yadav urged the government to conduct a rapid assessment of the losses and ensure that relief measures are substantive rather than merely symbolic, emphasizing that the compensation should truly help farmers recover from their financial losses.
