Tejasvi Surya demands White Paper on Bengaluru road spending

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya has demanded a White Paper regarding the ₹5,500 crore spent by the state government on roadworks and pothole management in Bengaluru over the last three years. Surya questioned the effectiveness of this expenditure, noting that despite the significant funds allocated, major and minor roads in the city remain riddled with potholes.

During a meeting with Bangalore In-Charge Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, Surya argued that an in-depth report is necessary before the government proceeds with a proposed additional ₹8,000 crore for pothole repairs.

In addition to road infrastructure concerns, the MP called for the acceleration of metro projects. He specifically highlighted a two-and-a-half-year delay in the Orange Line Metro, which has stalled despite receiving Union Government approval, and urged for the commencement of work on the Red Line Metro.
