TEKEVER acquires Flowcopter to boost autonomous drone capabilities

TEKEVER, a provider of AI-driven autonomous systems, has acquired Edinburgh-based engineering firm Flowcopter. The acquisition aims to expand TEKEVER’s capabilities in the United Kingdom and its portfolio of advanced autonomous systems across Europe.

Flowcopter specializes in innovative hydraulic transmission technology for aerospace propulsion. This technology allows unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to carry heavier payloads over longer distances compared to conventional platforms. TEKEVER intends to use this expertise to accelerate the development of long-endurance, heavy-lift aerial platforms for applications including search and rescue, disaster relief, offshore operations, and forward logistics.

This move strengthens TEKEVER’s presence in the UK, where the company already employs over 300 people across various locations including London, Bristol, and Southampton. TEKEVER CEO Ricardo Mendes noted that the two organizations had previously collaborated on the AR6 programme.
