Tekever sells drones to US Special Operations Command

Portuguese technology company Tekever has announced the sale of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The deal follows an extensive validation and acceptance testing program, which included flight campaigns and specific training sessions to ensure the equipment is ready for military missions.

The drones are designed for rapid mobilization and are intended for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) tasks in demanding operational environments. The systems utilize a modular architecture that integrates aerial platforms, mission-specific payloads, communication systems, and artificial intelligence software to create an autonomous information-gathering ecosystem.

While the contract value, the specific number of drones, and the exact models have not been disclosed, Tekever CEO Ricardo Mendes described the acquisition as a significant milestone in a relationship built through rigorous testing and dialogue. The company maintains a presence in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to support its defense and security clients in the United States.
