Tekirdağ fish die‑off triggers coordinated investigation

Mass fish deaths were reported in Değirbanaltı Creek near Tekirdağ, Turkey. The mayor, Candan Yüceer, ordered the municipal Veterinary, Environment Protection, and Agriculture & Forestry departments, together with fish‑product control teams, to launch a simultaneous on‑site investigation.

Officials measured water parameters: pH 6.45, dissolved oxygen 10.5 mg/L, temperature 21.6 °C, conductivity 121 µS/cm, ORP ‑0.1 mV, and depth 0.32 m. Samples of water and dead fish were collected for laboratory analysis. Initial findings indicate the water quality is within normal limits, so the cause of the deaths remains undetermined. Final laboratory results will be released to the public once available.
