Tekirdağ launches financial support program for new parents

The 'First Breath, First Support' project has been launched in Tekirdağ, Turkey, to provide financial assistance to young couples with newborns. Under this initiative, eligible families will receive monthly payments of 4,000 TL for 12 months, totaling 48,000 TL per child.

The program is a collaborative effort between the Tekirdağ Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and the Tekirdağ branch of the Turkish Red Crescent. To qualify, families must be beneficiaries of the Ministry of Family and Social Services' 'Support for Newlyweds' project and meet specific criteria.

Officials stated that the project aims to alleviate the economic burden on young families, strengthen the family structure, and encourage childbearing. Şuayip Tunçal, Deputy General Manager of Family and Community Services at the Ministry, noted that the goal is to lead the way in expanding this model across Turkey.
