Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality aims for 13 Blue Flag beaches

Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality has announced plans to increase the number of Blue Flag beaches in the region to 13 within the next two years. Under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Candan Yüceer, the municipality has already raised the count from 6 to 10 beaches.

The municipality is currently focusing on Kumbağ in the Süleymanpaşa district, where three new beaches are being prepared to meet Blue Flag standards. This initiative aims to strengthen the city's position in coastal tourism and expand its shores that meet international environmental standards.

Efforts led by the Department of Environmental Protection and Control focus on maintaining seawater quality, coastal protection, and improving beach services to support the city's environmental and tourism goals.
