Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality announces cultural trips and beach updates

Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality has announced a series of free cultural trips to Çanakkale titled “Cumhuriyet Yolunda Çanakkale” to commemorate Republic Day. The program, which runs from October 28 to November 17, aims to allow citizens from Tekirdağ’s 11 districts to experience the historical and spiritual atmosphere of Çanakkale, a symbol of the independence struggle.

In separate coastal management news, the municipality reported successful summer season operations. Under the leadership of Mayor Dr. Candan Yüceer, the number of Blue Flag beaches in Tekirdağ has increased from six to ten. During the summer season, the municipality deployed 57 lifeguards and 180 cleaning personnel, collecting 13,860 tons of seaweed and 210 tons of marine debris to maintain beach safety and cleanliness.
