Tekirdağ Murder Suspect Used AI to Plan Killing

In the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ, a fire broke out on January 9 at an apartment where Binnaz Eriş was later found stabbed in the throat and abdomen. Police identified Inci Çalışkan and her spouse, C. Ç., as suspects. Çalışkan confessed that she killed her aunt, stole gold, cash and a phone, and then set the fire to conceal the crime.

Investigators discovered that Çalışkan had typed queries into a generative‑AI tool asking how to dispose of a body and whether a knife would quickly kill, indicating the murder was pre‑planned with the help of artificial‑intelligence advice. Both suspects were detained; Çalışkan was remanded in custody while her husband was released under judicial control. The case proceeded to trial with hearings scheduled for 3 November, and charges of pre‑meditated murder and arson were filed by the Tekirdağ prosecutor’s office.
