Tekirdağ reaches 10 Blue Flag beaches

Tekirdağ has increased its number of Blue Flag beaches to 10 this year, positioning the province as a prominent coastal tourism center in the Marmara Region. These beaches meet international standards regarding environmental management, cleanliness, safety, accessibility, and service quality.

Ömer Faruk Karaküçük, the Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism, stated that the Blue Flag status contributes significantly to the city's tourism potential and preference among visitors.

Health experts, including Professor Burcu Tokuç from Namık Kemal University, advise visitors to check official water quality analysis results before swimming. Tokuç recommends choosing areas rated as ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ and warns that swimmers must strictly follow safety flags, noting that swimming is prohibited in areas marked with a red flag to avoid health risks.
