Tekno discusses ‘Olodo Uprising’ and entertainment trends

Afrobeats singer Tekno has commented on the ‘Olodo Uprising’ trend, which questions the increasing emphasis on intellectualism within the entertainment industry. Speaking on Yanga FM, Tekno argued that audiences do not always seek intellectual depth in entertainment, noting that simple humor and goofy behavior can be highly engaging.

Reflecting on the popularity of comedian Carter Efe and legendary Nollywood actors such as Osuofia and Mr Ibu, Tekno suggested that the appeal of such performers often stems from their humorous or seemingly foolish personas. He noted that while this style of entertainment is not new, the modern digital landscape allows individuals to perform similar content from their homes and monetize it effectively.
