TEKNOFEST 2026 to host international electric vehicle races

As part of TEKNOFEST 2026, the International Electric Vehicle Races, managed by TÜBİTAK, are preparing to showcase vehicles designed and developed by young engineers. The competition features two main categories: Electromobil, which utilizes battery power, and Hidromobil, which employs hydrogen fuel cells in addition to batteries.

Out of 315 participating teams and over 3,000 students, 56 finalist teams and 1,116 students have advanced to the final stage. These finalists will test their vehicles on a 1,370-meter track at the TÜBİTAK Gebze Campus between August 31 and September 6.

The event aims to develop qualified human resources for future mobility solutions by bringing together high school, associate degree, and undergraduate students to gain experience in engineering, design, system integration, and driving performance. The Electromobil category is open to students from Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Northern Cyprus, as well as international participants.
