Teksmark Joburg to showcase seven new South African theatre scripts
The third Teksmark Joburg is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 21 October, at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Art Centre's Keorapetse William Kgositsile Theatre. The event aims to showcase seven new South African theatre scripts through playreadings.
Presented by KKNK and NATi, with support from UJ Arts & Culture, The Baxter Theatre, and the Het Jan Marais Nationale Fonds, the project seeks to connect playwrights with industry stakeholders, including production houses, festivals, and potential investors. This connection is intended to facilitate the further development and investment of new South African stories. A record number of proposals were received this year from both emerging and established playwrights for consideration by a selection panel.
