Tel Aviv Pride March Draws Thousands Amid Calls for LGBTQ Equality

On June 12, 2026, thousands of people gathered for the Tel Aviv Pride parade, filling the city's seafront with rainbow flags, music and dancing.

More than 1,000 police officers and volunteers were deployed to secure the event, reflecting authorities' attention to safety.

Organisers presented the march as both a celebration and a statement of resilience after years of political tensions and the Oct. 7 war. Activists pointed out that LGBTQ people can serve openly in Israel's parliament and military—uncommon in the region—but said legal and social equality remains incomplete. Some participants reported homophobic abuse, and religious parties continue to oppose many LGBTQ‑rights initiatives.
