Telč hosts Prázdniny festival with jubilee concerts

The Prázdniny v Telči festival, the longest-running festival in the Czech Republic, is entering its final week. Held annually since 1982, the event transforms the town of Telč for seventeen days.

This year's celebrations included jubilee concerts for musicians Zdeněk Vřešťál and Pavel Lohonka Žalman. Lohonka Žalman, a South Bohemian folk musician, performed a special concert to celebrate his 80th birthday. Having performed at the festival every year since 1984, his birthday performance marked his 75th appearance at the event.

The festival features a wide variety of programming, including craft stalls and music performances at the castle courtyard and Panský dvůr. While originally a folk festival, it has expanded across genres and serves as a significant cultural event for the local community.
