Telangana ACB arrests GHMC supervisor for alleged Rs 4 lakh bribe
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) apprehended Tulasiram Sunitha, a Town Planning Supervisor for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in the Golkonda Zone, for allegedly accepting a bribe.
According to the ACB, Sunitha demanded Rs 8 lakh and was caught red-handed while accepting a partial payment of Rs 4 lakh. The bribe was reportedly intended to facilitate building construction permissions and to bypass speaking orders issued by the GHMC Deputy Commissioner, while also ensuring future cooperation and preventing further harassment of the complainant.
In addition to the Rs 4 lakh bribe, officials seized Rs 2.5 lakh in unaccounted cash from Sunitha’s possession. The accused is being produced before the I Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand as investigations continue.
