Telangana ACB Arrests Roads Engineer Mohan Naik in ₹17.9 Crore Asset Case

The Telangana Anti‑Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets case against Roads and Buildings Engineer‑in‑Chief J. Mohan Naik. Searches at his residence, office and more than 15 other locations on June 9 uncovered property and valuables estimated at roughly ₹17.94 crore. The seized assets include five agricultural land parcels (19.38 acres) in Nizamabad district, seven flats in Kompally and Gachibowli, a triplex villa in Miyapur, a newly built house in Kukatpally, cash of about ₹5.5 lakh, bank balances of ₹1.44 crore, gold ornaments weighing 2.5 kg and silver ornaments of six kilograms, along with household items and electronics. Naik was produced before a special court on the day of his arrest and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. ACB officials said they could not locate the original property documents and anticipate further revelations as the investigation expands.
