Telangana ACB uncovers assets worth Rs 3 cr from mines official

The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against Bojja Jaya Raju, an Assistant Director in the Mines and Geology Department, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Raju, who also held additional charge as Deputy Director in Warangal, is alleged to have acquired wealth through corrupt practices during his service.

Searches conducted at eight locations linked to the officer, his relatives, and associates identified assets totaling approximately Rs 3.06 crore. The seized or identified assets include a G+2 building in Boduppal, a flat in KPHB Colony, five plots, 3.21 acres of agricultural land, Rs 10 lakh in cash, three four-wheelers, two two-wheelers, and 629 grams of gold ornaments. Additionally, investigators found significant bank balances, post office savings, and LIC/Max Life savings.

Investigations revealed that approximately Rs 24.80 lakh was transferred from the bank account of the officer’s driver to the account of his daughter through multiple transactions. The driver allegedly stated that these funds were collected from individuals involved in sand transportation activities. The ACB is continuing its inquiry to determine the exact nature and purpose of these transactions.
