Telangana announces child safety framework and school breakfast scheme

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced several state-level initiatives focused on child welfare and student nutrition. To combat cybercrime, the Chief Minister ordered the development of a comprehensive online safety framework for children. This framework will be created in consultation with the High Court and the Telangana State Legal Services Authority (TGSLSA). The initiative aims to integrate various existing institutions, such as Bharosa centres and Child Protection Units, to create a unified protection system.

Additionally, the state is set to launch a school breakfast scheme. Central kitchens designed to provide nutritious meals to government school students are scheduled to become operational on December 9. The Chief Minister instructed officials to complete kitchen construction by November 30 and suggested the development of an app to monitor calorie content and track students' physical and academic progress. The Hare Krishna Foundation, supported by Junna Solar Systems and Chain Labs India, has partnered to establish modern community kitchens in Nagarkurnool and Vikarabad to support this program.
