Telangana announces transport reforms and festival support

The Telangana government has announced several updates regarding state transport and upcoming festival arrangements. Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar highlighted 1,000 days of reforms within the Telangana RTC, noting the adoption of new technology and improvements to passenger and employee welfare. Key initiatives include the planned addition of 2,200 electric buses under the PM E Drive scheme and the final stages of recruiting nearly 4,000 employees. The minister also noted that the government is working to integrate RTC services with the Metro and MMTS networks.

In preparation for the Ganesh Utsav festivities, the state government has decided to provide free electricity for Ganesh pandals. Officials have been directed to implement strict traffic management, security measures, and medical preparedness, including the deployment of ambulances and lifeboats at immersion points. The government is also encouraging eco-friendly celebrations by promoting the use of clay idols and requesting organizers to adopt environmentally conscious practices.
