Telangana Board extends Intermediate admissions to August 31

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has extended the admission deadline for first-year Intermediate courses for the 2026-27 academic year until August 31, 2026. This extension applies to various institutions, including government, private aided and unaided, cooperative, residential, and composite degree colleges.

Colleges are prohibited from conducting separate entrance examinations. Instead, admissions must be granted based on Grade Point Average (GPA), subject-wise Grade Points, or marks obtained in qualifying examinations. For private unaided colleges, admissions must be restricted to sanctioned sections, with a maximum of 88 students per section.

The Board emphasized strict adherence to reservation policies. The prescribed category-wise reservations include 15% for Scheduled Castes, 10% for Scheduled Tribes, 29% for Backward Classes, 10% for Economically Weaker Sections, 5% for persons with disabilities, 5% for NCC, sports, and extracurricular activities, and 3% for ex-servicemen and defense personnel residing in Telangana. Additionally, where separate colleges for girls are unavailable, 33.33% of total seats must be reserved for female students on a category-wise basis.
