Telangana CM and Indian Army discuss recruitment and disaster response

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Indian Army’s Southern Command, to discuss youth recruitment and disaster management.

Reddy proposed establishing structured training programmes at district-level centres across Telangana to help local youth prepare for Army recruitment processes. Lieutenant General Pushkar expressed willingness to support the initiative, indicating that training centres could be organized at selected district locations to provide guidance ahead of nationwide recruitment drives.

The discussions also addressed disaster response. The Chief Minister requested proactive military involvement in rescue operations, evacuations, and rehabilitation efforts during flood situations in the state. The Lieutenant General assured that local Army authorities would be directed to provide necessary support during such emergencies.
