Telangana CM directs acceleration of Hyderabad Metro Old City project

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to accelerate the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project in the Old City. During a review meeting with Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) officials, the Chief Minister ordered the rapid completion of road widening works on the 7.5-kilometer stretch from MGBS to Chandrayangutta and instructed that the tender process for metro construction on this corridor begin immediately.

To address increasing passenger numbers, the Chief Minister emphasized the need for additional metro coaches and ordered the procurement of necessary equipment. He also suggested consulting with Delhi Metro regarding the selection of appropriate technology for the new corridor. Additionally, the meeting covered preparations for the 'Invest Telangana Global Summit' scheduled for December, with a focus on meeting international standards to attract global investment.

Key officials in attendance included Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju and HMRL Managing Director Sarfaraz Ahmed.
