Telangana CM directs fast-track funding for SC/ST harassment victims

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to utilize a ‘Green Channel’ to expedite the release of funds for victims of sexual harassment from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities.

During a meeting of the state-level vigilance and monitoring committee regarding the implementation of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, the Chief Minister reviewed case registrations, investigations, and victim rehabilitation. He emphasized that the government is taking action on humanitarian grounds and highlighted various welfare initiatives, such as providing nutritious food to 2.75 million students and distributing ‘Indiramma’ housing to marginalized groups.

Reddy also stressed the importance of quality education as a tool for social mobility, urging these communities to encourage children to excel in academics and sports.
