Telangana aims for $1 trillion economy by 2034 via three-zone plan
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has unveiled the ‘Telangana Rising: 2047 Vision Document,’ a roadmap aimed at transforming the state into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Speaking at the Samakhya Business Summit, Reddy stated that the plan aligns with the national ‘Viksit Bharat’ goal to develop India by the centenary of its independence.
The strategy utilizes a three-zone development framework to leverage regional economic potential:
• CURE (Core Urban Region Economy): Located within the Hyderabad Outer Ring Road, this zone will focus on IT, services, and cutting-edge technological innovation. • PURE (Peri-Urban Region Economy): Situated between the Outer Ring Road and the Regional Ring Road, this area will prioritize manufacturing, industrial parks, and logistics. • RARE (Rural Agriculture Region Economy): This zone will focus on agriculture, food processing, agro-based industries, and rural employment.
Reddy emphasized the importance of global investment and cooperation between state and central governments to increase Telangana’s contribution to India’s GDP from the current 5 percent to 10 percent.
