Hyundai to invest ₹8,528 crore in Telangana R&D facility
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met with leadership from Hyundai Motor India Engineering (HMIE) to pitch the state as a primary hub for automotive manufacturing. During the meeting, which included HMIE Managing Director Changyeon Cho, the Chief Minister advocated for Hyderabad’s strategic location, infrastructure, and skilled workforce.
Hyundai is moving forward with plans for an Integrated Global R&D facility and a mega test centre at the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Zaheerabad. The project is expected to involve a phased investment of ₹8,528 crore across 678 acres and is projected to create 4,276 jobs.
The company indicated that groundwork for the facility could begin in the coming months. This expansion aims to strengthen Hyundai’s existing engineering presence in Hyderabad and aligns with the state’s 'Telangana Rising 2047' vision.
