Telangana CM Revanth Reddy cleared to travel abroad in cash‑for‑vote case

A Hyderabad court has granted Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy permission to travel abroad from August 17 to September 10, despite his status as the prime accused in the 2015 cash‑for‑vote scandal. The order, issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB cases, allows visits to the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and China, subject to a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh, submission of travel itineraries and contact details, and an undertaking to return his passports by September 18, 2026.

Reddy, who was a Telugu Desam Party MLA when arrested by the Anti‑Corruption Bureau in 2015, is alleged to have paid a Rs 50 lakh bribe to secure a legislative council seat. After bail and a period of passport surrender, the court now relaxes those conditions, enabling him to meet Union Ministers in New Delhi on matters concerning Telangana.

The permission comes while Reddy’s petition to quash the criminal case remains pending before the Supreme Court.
