Telangana CM urges Centre to fast-track Mamunoor and Adilabad airport projects
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu in Delhi to advocate for the acceleration of aviation infrastructure projects in the state.
Regarding the Mamunoor (Warangal) airport, the Chief Minister confirmed that land acquisition is complete and has been handed over to the relevant agency. Minister Naidu announced that tenders for the project will be invited within two weeks, with finalization expected by December. The foundation stone for the airport is scheduled to be laid during that same month.
For the Adilabad airport, Reddy requested the establishment of passenger and cargo terminals, as well as Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities. He also called for a joint meeting between the Defence and Civil Aviation departments to resolve runway specification issues.
Additionally, the discussions covered the promotion of heli-tourism to boost the state's tourism sector. Civil Aviation officials also noted that a report regarding potential seaplane landings at Hussain Sagar will be submitted to the state government within two weeks.
