Telangana Congress leaders join INDIA bloc protest in Delhi

Leaders from the Telangana Congress and members of the INDIA bloc gathered in New Delhi on October 12 to protest the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The demonstration, part of the ‘Vote Bachao… Desh Bachao’ campaign, aims to demand accountability from the Election Commission of India and calls for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy compared the movement to India’s freedom struggle, stating that a fight is necessary to protect constitutional voting rights. He alleged that the current voter list revision process is being used to delete voters' names. The Congress high command directed Telangana party officials, including MPs and MLAs, to participate in the protest to oppose the SIR process and advocate for safeguards to protect eligible voters.
