Telangana DGP C. V. Anand leads police commemoration initiatives

Telangana Director General of Police C. V. Anand has inaugurated several initiatives in Hyderabad as part of Police Commemoration Week, an event held to honor police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

As part of the commemorations, a blood donation drive was launched at the City Armed Reserve headquarters. Similar camps are being conducted at 37 locations across Hyderabad, with an expected collection of approximately 5,000 units of blood. Additionally, Anand flagged off new vehicles under the Spandana initiative, designed to improve emergency response times for Dial 112 calls related to child protection and women’s safety.

During the first anniversary meeting of Suraksha, the department's publication, DGP Anand emphasized the importance of bridging the communication gap between the police and the public. He noted that in an era of rapid social media expansion, the publication must focus on fact-checking and providing accurate information to counter misleading reports and highlight police reforms and crime prevention measures.
