Telangana Engineer Arrested Over Rs 150 Crore Disproportionate Assets

The Telangana Anti‑Corruption Bureau arrested Mutyam Venkata Ramana, a divisional engineer at the Renewable Energy Development Corporation (REDCO), after searches at his residence, office and seven related premises uncovered assets valued officially at Rs 27.65 crore. The bureau estimates the market value of the wealth at Rs 100‑150 crore, deeming it disproportionate to his known income.

Recovered items include four residential flats in Serilingampally and Kukatpally, two commercial buildings in Kukatpally and Guttala Begumpet, approximately 2 kg of gold ornaments, bank deposits of Rs 52.02 lakh, three vehicles, household goods and about 20 liquor bottles. Investigators also found that the engineer had invested heavily in real‑estate projects through four construction firms registered in his wife’s name, with ten residential apartment projects under construction worth around Rs 20 crore. The case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
