Telangana government expands TGSRTC staff and integrates transit services
The Telangana government is advancing several initiatives to improve the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) and public transit in Hyderabad. The state is preparing to complete the recruitment of 4,538 new employees to alleviate the workload on current staff. Additionally, the government has addressed various financial obligations, including clearing pending 2017 Pay Revision Commission dues, outstanding Dearness Allowance, and reducing Provident Fund and Cooperative Credit Society debts.
To enhance passenger convenience, the government has integrated Metro Rail and TGSRTC bus services through a new RTC–Metro Common Pass. This single-pass system allows commuters to switch between the Metro and buses seamlessly. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka recently reviewed the implementation by traveling via both modes of transport to interact with passengers and assess the system's efficiency.
