Telangana government initiates fast-track resolution for 22A land issues

The Telangana government has initiated a fast-track process to resolve long-standing 22A land issues that have caused difficulties for citizens for decades. Following a commitment made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in the Legislative Assembly, Revenue, Housing, and Information and Civil Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced that the government has issued orders to facilitate the registration of open plots, houses, and flats.

This decision applies to properties that have obtained legal approvals for layouts, building construction, or apartments from authorities such as the GHMC, HMDA, municipalities, DTCP, or other urban and rural local bodies. Applicants must provide at least one link document related to the registration process.

To address any complications, district-level committees will be established. These committees will include the District Collector, Additional Collector (Local Bodies), District Registrar, and representatives from the HMDA, municipalities, or rural local bodies.

As part of these efforts, the government has already issued a memo regarding the regularization of houses in approximately 64 colonies within the Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri districts under GO 118. Additionally, a key decision has been made via GO 76 to resolve the decades-old housing regularization issue for Singareni workers.
