Telangana government marks 1,000 days amid political debate

The Congress-led government in Telangana, headed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has released a report marking its first 1,000 days in power. The administration describes its tenure as 'Peoples Governance,' highlighting achievements in economic growth, social justice, and infrastructure. Key claims include the waiver of agricultural loans for over 25 lakh farmer families and the distribution of 36,000 crore rupees in investment assistance under the Rythu Bharosa scheme. The report also notes that Telangana's per capita income for 2025-26 has reached 4,18,931 rupees.

In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has labeled the 1,000-day period a complete failure. BJP leaders Avinash Devda and Manmeet Singh criticized the government for failing to fulfill campaign promises, specifically citing unfulfilled pledges regarding electric two-wheelers for students and gold for women. The opposition also raised concerns over public health issues like mosquito control in Hyderabad and alleged that housing schemes have remained largely symbolic without actual allocations.
