The Telangana government has implemented significant changes to public transportation costs in the state. Officials have introduced a common pass system for Hyderabad commuters, integrating Hyderabad Metro Rail and Telangana Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus services. The monthly common pass is priced at Rs 8,500, consisting of Rs 7,000 for Metro travel and Rs 1,500 for RTC buses. A daily common pass has been set at Rs 400, covering both services within the Outer Ring Road limits.

Simultaneously, the government has revised auto-rickshaw tariffs across Telangana. The minimum fare has been increased to Rs 30 for the first 1.6 km, with subsequent travel costing Rs 14 per kilometer. To account for late-night travel, a 1.5x surcharge will apply to rides taken between 11 pm and 5 am. Additionally, detention charges are now fixed at 75 paise per minute. The Transport Commissioner has been granted a three-month window to facilitate the resetting of digital meters to reflect these new rates.
