Telangana government sets one-month deadline for land regularisation
The Telangana government, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, has issued a directive to district collectors to resolve pending applications under GO 59 within one month. This order specifically concerns the regularisation of government land parcels measuring up to 500 square yards.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy announced that the initiative aims to provide relief to landowners affected by Section 22-A, which has previously restricted the registration of certain properties. The government is fast-tracking the resolution of various issues, including Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) applications and patta lands awaiting Non-Agricultural Lands Assessment (NALA) clearance.
Officials have been instructed to conduct thorough verifications of beneficiary eligibility and land extent while checking for irregularities or rule violations. This scrutiny will also extend to cases where conveyance deeds have already been issued. Matters currently before the courts will be handled in accordance with judicial orders.
