Telangana Health Minister inaugurates robotic surgery workshop at TIMS

Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha inaugurated a state-level multi-specialty robotic surgery workshop at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar. During the event, the minister inspected advanced robotic surgical equipment and infrastructure, discussing the integration of modern technology into the state’s healthcare system.

The government aims to expand robotic surgery services across Telangana over the next six months. Plans include extending these services to several major facilities, including Mehdi Nawaz Jung Cancer Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, Niloufer Hospital, the Super Speciality Hospital in Warangal, and various Government General Hospitals. The minister noted that NIMS Hospital has already completed 1,000 robotic surgeries in a short period.

Additionally, the minister highlighted ongoing infrastructure developments, stating that the completion of new facilities at TIMS and Osmania General Hospital will add over 40,000 beds to the state's medical capacity.
