Telangana High Court Grants Bail to Warangal Sub-Registrar in Anti‑Corruption Case
The Telangana High Court approved bail for a Sub‑Registrar in Warangal who was implicated in an Anti‑Corruption Bureau investigation. Prosecutors alleged that a surprise inspection on April 2 uncovered about 20 unauthorised private document writers operating inside the registrar’s office, along with unaccounted cash of ₹47,450, 70 pending documents and several mobile phones. The investigators said the document writers collected bribes from the public and transferred the proceeds via cash and UPI as directed by the accused.
The court, presided over by Justice G. M. Mohiuddin, noted that the primary accused had already been released on bail and, after hearing arguments, granted bail to the second accused on a personal bond of ₹50,000 with two sureties. The bail order required the petitioner to appear before the authority every Monday and Friday until further notice. The prosecution opposed the bail, emphasizing the seriousness of the offences and the incomplete witness testimony.
