Telangana High Court issues warrant for Finance Secretary Sandeep Sultania

The Telangana High Court has issued a bailable warrant for Finance Department Secretary Sandeep Sultania after finding him in contempt of court. The contempt petition, filed by former Secunderabad Cantonment Board member J Ramakrishna, alleges that the state government failed to comply with a 2024 court order directing the release of Rs 33.42 crore to the board.

Justice Nagesh Bheemapaka ordered the Hyderabad Police Commissioner to arrest Sultania wherever he is found and produce him before the court on 7 August at 10:30 a.m. The warrant allows bail on a personal bond of Rs 5,000 and an undertaking to attend subsequent hearings. The court rejected the government’s request for additional time to file a counter‑affidavit, noting that no response had been filed.
