Telangana ministers call for 50% Hyderabad revenue use and stress non‑political welfare rollout

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said Hyderabad generates about 70% of Telangana’s revenue but less than 5% is spent on the city’s development. He urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to allocate at least half of the city’s revenue to improve neglected areas such as Sanathnagar, Secunderabad and Musheerabad, noting financial strain on the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Water Works. “I urge Chief Minister Revanth Reddy … to spend at least 50 per cent of Hyderabad’s revenue on the city’s development,” he told reporters.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, laying a foundation stone in Khammam district, said the state government will implement welfare schemes without political bias. He highlighted free electricity up to 200 units, free travel for women on TGSRTC buses, issuance of new ration cards, distribution of fine rice, and the sanctioning of eight lakh Indiramma houses. He announced that new Aasara pensions will begin on August 15 and stressed that all eligible families will receive benefits regardless of caste, religion or politics.
